To all the Freaks.....

Not often do I get something on my heart inspiring to say. I'm not a theologian, a poet, write songs or anything of that sort....Really, I'm just not that good with words, but today, I've got a couple somethings on my mind....

I cannot tell you how thrilled I am with all of the newcomers in my church lately. Last night alone there were a ton of visitors....and you know what? A great majority of them are homeless, drug addicts, alcoholics and just plain ol' down and out. And you know what else? That is amazing. Sure, they make services a little interesting...but who cares? Doesn't the Bible mention something about going into the "highways and the hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled" (Luke 14:23)? Or what about "So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both good and bad..."(Matthew 22:10). To me the work that some of the guys are doing in our church by bringing them, is the greatest work that could be going on right now. People are hungry, and they need to be fed!

.....and think of their potential....

Some of the greatest men of God were just like them. Maybe the guy sitting next to you is the next greatest preacher to hit this nation. I believe this is the time of our revival and the results are flooding in!!!!

My other thought...

There are some pretty kooky people in the world, and I just want to go on the record as saying that kooky people rock! I love the people who don't give a flying rip what people think of them. I think it is so awesome. Be proud of who you are!! Don't be afraid to grasp the potential that God has for you. What if Esther had just sat around and waited for someone else to take the lead in saving her nation? What if Daniel had not taken a stand when it came to his prayer life, even though it meant he could have been the next li'l snack for those lions? There are countless times in the Bible that God used the weird ones, the ones who stood out...the Freaks. So, I say kuddos to you. Continue to be that Freak!!! There is nothing, absolutely nothing wrong with being the odd one out, the one that people chit chat about. Honestly, I wish I could be more like that. Continue to be who you are, God has given you a burden...do not be afraid to do it!!!

p.s. If this makes absolutely no sense, I do not take the blame...please read the first paragraph again...

So, the weirdest thing happened last night while Angie and I were at Walmart. At about 10:30ish, there was an urgent anouncement over the P.A. informing us that they were having "technical" difficulties at the back of the store, and we all needed to proceed to the checkout counter with our purchases. While we were in the lineup with the other hundred shoppers rushing to the front, they told us just to leave our purchases where they were and immediately leave the premises. On our way out, there were a couple of police officers, along with employees, directing people to rush out of the building. They did not tell us a thing. So, of course, the first thing I did this morning was turn on my computer and google the events of yesterday evening. Apparently, a "suspicious" package was found by an employee doing a routing cleaning. The police, along with the tacticul (sp?) unit, were called and the package was examined, but it was totally bogus and everything was fine. So, yeah, that was my totally cool, weird evening last night....(Esther, doesn't this remind you of one of those totally matter of fact stories we are so great at telling...lol)

So, I was reading one of my friend's blogs (Jessie) and found out that the most aweful things have happened in her family lately...Her grandma fell, and I think broke her nose and her face was pretty beat up; her sister fell off of a ladder and broke her arm; her one year old nephew ran at the fire place and before anyone could stop him, he touched the glass and got second degree burns; and to top it off, another nephew jumped off his bed, broke his arm and had to go for surgery. PLEASE pray for this family. It seems that the devil is really fighting them right now. This family has such an integral part in our church, and the devil knows this!!! Please don't be discouraged (if you read this) and know that many many people are praying for you. I love you guys all so much!!!!
