The other day (see above), I looked out the window at work (we are on the 4th floor). To my surprise, I noticed that the street was blocked off with police tape, and standing around, were approximately 10 police officers speaking with the surrounding neighbours. One of the girls that I work with, went downstairs to see what the commotion was about. She came back up with some pretty distrubing news. In one of the houses around our building, shots had been fired and the police and K9 unit had been called to control the situation. A tear gas bomb had been thrown into the house, which then shook the windows of our building. We were told that we couldn't leave work until the situation was under control. Not only us but surrounding schools and streets were in lock down until they could control the situation. Shortly after 5:00, we were told we could leave. Not long after, we found at that, unfortunately, the man had shot himself. What started out as an exciting experience, definately ended somberly. I ask that you keep this man's family in your prayers.
